Our Tuscan Holiday Experience

Verona - start of our Tuscan holiday!

Verona is a charming city in Northern Italy, most famous for its association with Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. This is why it is also called the city of love. The city can also be visited in a day trip as it is in close proximity to Florence, Milan, Bologna and Venice.  In this episode we will show you what makes Verona so famous and how you can spend a day visiting Juliet's house, wandering in its medieval streets, visiting the 1st century arena and other historical buildings and churches, enjoying the Italian cuisine with recommendation of restaurants and much more. This can be your travel guide for a perfect one day itinerary when visiting Verona.

Florence - a stop before we enter the Tuscan country side

In this episode we take you on a tour of the gorgeous birthplace of the Italian Renaissance - Florence. The biggest and probably the most popular Tuscan city, Florence has a treasure of history, art and culture dating back to 60 BC. A city that is a paradise for any art lover, with its numerous museums, can be your host for many days, but we share with you some highlights of this city that you can do in a day. And off course, one important part of those highlights is food and we show you exactly some popular recommendations.

Montepuliciano - what an introduction to Tuscany!

Here we go deeper into the heart of Tuscany (Toscana), Italy to explore the hidden jewel, hill top town of Tuscany, couple of hours away from Florence. We tell you a perfect one day itinerary to explore this medieval town - from buzzing narrow, inclined cobbled streets with cafes, restaurants, museums and more, to its historical city centre and to its iconic winery, there are a lot of of things to do in this uniquely beautiful town which you should not miss. And yes, we do all of that with some delicious food that is highly recommended in this city.

Val d'Orcia - you stole my heart!

Here we go deeper into the heart of Tuscany (Toscana), Italy to explore the UNESCO world heritage accredited, breathtakingly beautiful region of Val d'Orcia and a fascinating ideal hill top town of Pienza. We tell you a perfect one day itinerary to explore this region - from thrilling and scenic driving on winding roads surrounded by the Italian Cypress tress, to the enchanting towns with buzzing narrow, cobbled streets with cafes, restaurants and more. And yes, we do all of that with some delicious food that is highly recommended in this city.

Deep inside the Tuscan country side!

We continue our exploration of the UNESCO world heritage region of Val d'Orcia and its hidden gems. We explore the fascinating and surreal town of Monticchiello which is also our home for this stint. We also give you a quick glimpse of our modern AirBnB in a 1200 AD building facade! After Monticchiello, we stop by at Bagno Vignoni which is a unique town in the whole of Europe and we explain you why is that! Then we explore the quaint town of Castiglione d'Orcia in which we find us as the only tourists around, and the only ones out in its medieval alleys! Tuscany is known for its Agro Tourism, a term which we explain you in the video, as we choose one of the popular farm to table restaurants as our lunch destination. All this we sum it up with a rejuvenating bath in one of the most popular thermal springs of Bagni San Filippo also know as the white whale!

Every town here transports back you in time!

We explore the Val d'elsa region of Tuscany and take you to the most famous towns dominating the landscape. First we visit the astonishingly beautiful, medieval, hill top town of Monteriggioni also known for its magnificent castle walls, on which you can also take a walk and feel yourself as the main character of the popular game Assassin Creed that apparently had sections of the game based in this town. Followed by Monteriggioni we explore the most popular town of this region - San Gimignano. Known for his rich history and also known as the Tuscan town of towers we explore the rich history of this town by taking you inside some of its very popular landmarks. We share all of this along with some delectable local cuisines that we try during our exploration of these two towns and also share a unique experience of olive oil tasting.

The Jewels of Tuscany

We explore the last two cities planned for our Tuscany, Italy itinerary - Siena followed a brief visit to Pisa. We look at a few reasons that make Siena truly one of the most beautiful and popular Tuscan city of Italy. Be it the unique market square or the astonishing Siena Duomo, which was originally planned as the biggest church of the world. Known for its art, culture and cuisine, I finally get to try one of the most popular Tuscan dish - wild boar pasta! Finally towards the evening we leave Siena only to do a brief stopover to admire one of the 7 wonders of the world - the leaning tower of Pisa.

The 5 villages along the Italian coastline

With Pisa, we ended our Tuscany region road trip and before bidding farewell to Italy we do a weekend stay in one of the most popular places of the Italian Rivera, the place of the famous five fishermen villages - Cinque Terre. In this episode we share our experience of how one can explore this region on a tight time schedule, yet enjoying and soaking in the beauty and nuances of each of these towns. No exploration comes without food and likewise, we pick up some lip smacking local Italian delicacy in each of these villages turning our expedition into a gastronomy delight.
